If you have little or no experience, Discover Canoeing is a good introduction to tandem canoeing. At the end of the session you will be able to paddle close to the shore with a partner in calm conditions. This clinic covers skills taught in the ORCKA Safe Canoeing program.
Launching and removing the canoe and entering and exiting safely; best paddling positions, balancing; moving the canoe in all directions (forwards, backwards, sideways and in circles!). Plus an introduction to canoe rescue, equipment, safe canoeing procedures and regulations to keep you both safe and legal on the water.
Additional Instructions/Requirements: Please bring your own paddle and PFD if you have them. Otherwise, Club equipment is available to borrow. You will be contacted by the instructor and given further details several days before this course takes place.
